Wellsley Wave April Newsletter

We are counting down to the start of swim season! Our April newsletter includes exciting announcements and details about our upcoming season. Please stay tuned for updates and final practice schedules for the summer. We can't wait to see you at the pool! 

Introducing our Head Coaches for the 2024 Season!

We are thrilled to announce our Head Coaches! We are so lucky to have Cyrus and Emma return to our swim team this year! They will have a great supporting staff of assistant coaches, who will be announced in an upcoming newsletter. 

Cyrus Jahromi

My name is Cyrus Jahromi and I’m excited to be one of your Head Coaches this year! I’m a rising Sophomore at UNC Chapel Hill studying Environmental Science.This will be my 5th year on the Coaching staff and my first year as Head Coach. I swam for the Wellsley Wave for 13 years. In my free time I like to run, play guitar, tennis and golf with friends. This will be my 5th year on the coaching staff, and I’m looking forward to a great season! Go Wave!

Emma Shin

Hi, My name is Emma Shin! I'm a rising Freshman at UNC Chapel Hill and I am one of your Head Coaches this year! When I'm not in the pool, I enjoy drawing, taking photos of my daily life and friends, and going out on walks. This will be my seventh season with the Wellsley Wave Swim Team and I hope to make this season a fun and memorable time for all the swimmers. I'm so excited to meet everyone and I'm looking forward to having lots of fun this season!

Our First Event of the Season! 

Ice Cream Social and Kick-Off Meeting is May 19th at 4pm!

All parents should attend this meeting to get pertinent information about the upcoming season! Bring your swimmers to enjoy some ice cream and socialize with their teammates. We will introduce the coaches and board members, answer questions, and get you ready for an amazing summer season! The meeting will be at the pool house parking lot. See you then!

• Saturday June 22, 8:30 - 10:00 AM: Boy vs. Girl Fun Swim Meet
• Saturday, July 6, 8:00 PM: All ages Movie Night on the pool deck
• Sunday, July 14, 7:00 - 8:30 PM: 11 & Up Pool Party
• Thursday, July 18, 7:00 PM: End of Year Banquet
• Friday, July 19, 7:00 PM: Rain Date for Banquet

Meet Schedule

Our Meet Schedule is posted on the Wellsley Wave website! 

Swimsuit Try On - April 28th from Noon - 2 PM

Come to the pool to try on swimsuits for your growing kids! Wellsley Wave suits are optional, but encouraged. Donated suits are available on a first come, first served basis. Donations are very welcome.
