WELLSLEY WAVE SWIMMERS WANTED!

In addition to seeing all of our awesome swimmers from last year, we would love to see some new faces. Do you know a family who is new to Wellsley? Please spread the word about our swim team and encourage them to join! Being a fast swimmer is not a requirement; children should have basic water safety skills and be able to get themselves safely to the side of the pool after jumping in. If you have any questions about whether your child is ready, please reach out to any of the swim team board members. It is so much fun for our neighborhood kids to spend the summer in the pool together! Go Wave!

Our first social event of the year is our annual Wellsley Wave Ice Cream Social for registered families as well as anyone who would like to learn more about our swim team!

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED FOR OUR SOCIAL EVENTS!

Are you a lover of candy sprinkles, flower leis, and movie popcorn?

Can you swim the length of the pool in butterfly wings and a frog hat?

If the answer to any of these questions is yes, we would love your help on the Social Committee to help run several fun events for our kids this summer.

Events include an ice cream social, doughnut party, boy vs. girl swim meet and movie nights as well as the end of season banquet.

Parent involvement is key to the success of these events. These activities are a lot of fun and the kids love participating with their friends.

T-SHIRT DESIGN CONTEST

The Wave Swim Team is holding our annual t-shirt design contest! We look forward to seeing your creativity and team spirit. Please contact John Williams with any questions. [email protected]

Contest start date: March 1, 2024

Contest end date: March 31, 2024

Winner announced by: April 7, 2024

Prize: Wellsley Waves Swim Gear Bag

Selection process: Chosen by swim team committee (can't vote for own swimmer)

Rules:

1. any swimmer can submit a design of their own

2. design can take any theme as inspiration

3. design must proudly display the team's name

4. digital submissions are preferred (jpg or pdf format)

5. no submission limit, you are welcome to submit more than one idea

6. email scan of submission to [email protected]

Restrictions:

• design on one side (sponsors on back)
• 3 colors or fewer
• no copyrighted material

EXTRA SWIM OPPORTUNITY

The Marlins of Raleigh offer a short pre-season swim league for anyone interested in getting some good practice in before the season kicks off! The link for more info is here.

WELLSLEY WAVE FALL 2023 PINE STRAW AND MULCH FUNDRAISER

The Swim Team has arranged to provide delivery of NC long needle pine straw and/or triple shredded mulch to your home! Please note installation is not available. Thank you for your support of our neighborhood swim team!

• Pine straw (while supplies last): 5 bale minimum required to place an order. Please order in 5 bale increments. $6 per delivered bale.
• Mulch: 10 yard minimum for free delivery. $31 per delivered yard.
• Any delivery under 10 yds will need a $45 delivery charge.
• Order date extended to March 6, 2024
• Delivery: week of March 11 (could delay due to wet weather)

Ordering is fully online HERE. No need to print, just submit ongoogle forms and drop off your check (pouch under mailbox) at 118 Barnes Spring CT.
